DC United picked up just their fourth win of the 2010 Major League Soccer season after edging past fellow Eastern Conference strugglers Philadelphia Union.
Socceroo Danny Allsopp netted twice for the Washington-based franchise, the Australian opening the scoring midway through the first half before securing the points for DC 18 minutes after the break.
The win does not move the winning side off the foot of the conference but it does move them within two points of second-bottom Philadelphia.
