USA striker Robbie Findley claims the team did not celebrate their memorable draw against England for long.
The US opened their World Cup campaign in strong fashion by holding England 1-1 in Rustenburg on Saturday.
Yet while the result has been widely celebrated, Findley says the squad's thoughts quickly switched to Friday's clash with Slovenia.
The Real Salt Lake forward told US Soccer: "The main focus was that England game but now we are going on to the next game.
"We said we are going to take it a game at a time, that's what you have to do.
"That game has passed. We got a pretty good result but now we have just got to focus on Slovenia."
Nevertheless, Findley will not forget his first World Cup start.
The 24-year-old added: "I was a little bit nervous but it was an excited nervous.
"I told myself it was just like any other game. That's pretty hard, but it's what I tried to tell myself - just to go out there and do the things I had been doing."
