DaMarcus Beasley and Benny Feilhaber scored first half goals to inspire the United States to a 4-1 victory against Asian Cup hopefuls China in their final match before the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Clint Dempsey and Oguchi Onyewu added late second half goals for the USA, who open their Gold Cup title defense against Guatemala on Thursday.
Beasley opened the scoring from the penalty spot after 12 minutes, but China quickly responded six minutes later as Zhang Yaokun converted Wang Peng`s inviting cross from close range.
Feilhaber regained the lead for the hosts in spectacular fashion before the break as he chipped China goalkeeper Chen Dong from just outside the area.
Dempsey headed home Feilhaber`s cross with 13 minutes remaining before Onyewu rounded off the scoring four minutes later.
