AJAX coach Marco van Basten has revealed he expects striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar to stay at the club for the coming season.
The Holland international has been linked with some of Europe's top sides but with the new season approaching, Van Basten believes the chances of Huntelaar leaving are dimming.
"I have talked with him and I don't believe the idea of a transfer has any part in his life," Van Basten told Sportweek.
"He feels very good at Ajax. We will do our all to keep him at the club of course."
Van Basten also hinted that Ajax would resist any approach from another club.
"If we don't want it, a transfer will be difficult anyway," he said.
"It could happen that he leaves us on August 31, but that would be a very bad option. We are positive about it all."
