MARK van Bommel has backed Germany to provide a major threat to Holland and the rest of the World Cup hopefuls in South Africa.
The Bayern Munich midfielder knows Joachim Low's squad well and believes they will be fine even without injured captain Michael Ballack, using his absence as an extra motivation
"I believe they're thinking, 'Now we'll show the world how we can play without our captain'," he said in AD Sportwereld.
"They do not always play beautiful football, but they are always effective."
