PIM Verbeek has called on the Socceroos to become more lethal in front of goal with growing speculation that the coach could turn to Harry Kewell as a main striking option.
Verbeek's men are top of Group B with four points from three games but level with Oman, meaning a win for either side at Sultan Qaboos Sports complex would put them in a strong position heading into the final two games of the qualifying stage.
And Verbeek believes his side must finish the chances they create with more regularity, starting against Oman.
"The match against Oman is really important especially because we lost out on five points at the start of the qualifiers because we had to play without several foreign-based players," said the Dutchman.
"We aim to get away with a win but it will not be the end of the day if we don't do so. We still have two more games to go to get the points to qualify for the finals.
"However, a good result will make things easier for us against Kuwait and Indonesia. We have to be more sharp in front of goal and that's what we have to do on Saturday.''
There is speculation in the media today that Verbeek may choose to play Galatasaray's Kewell as the lone striker - something the player has done on occasions in the past and his recent scoring exploits at club level are encouraging.
Meanwhile, Kuwait will be hoping that game ends in a draw as then a win over Indonesia would send Goran Tufegdzic's side to the top of the standings with two games remaining.
Kuwait have won one of their two games so far and have three points to sit behind Australia and Oman, but have a game in hand over both sides.
"Our situation in the group means that we have to win the game in order to improve our chances of qualifying to the Asian Cup," said Tufegdzic.
"If we win on Saturday, then we could be top of the group."
Indonesia coach Benny Dollo warned Tufegdzic not to expect his side to roll over, pointing to the impressive draws against Australia and Oman in the qualifiers as examples of their capabilities.
"We want to prove to everyone that our previous results with Oman and Australia didn't come from nowhere because we have a good side and we can cause problems for any team," he said.
