Heerenveen coach Gertjan Verbeek has refused to accept the three-match ban handed to him by the KNVB prosecutor on Tuesday.
Verbeek was offered a three-match ban, one game of which is conditional, following his sending-off during his side's 4-1 defeat to Ajax in Amsterdam.
Referee Dick Jol sent the coach to the stands on Sunday after Verbeek pushed fourth official Bas Nijhuis away, but Verbeek insists he retaliated because Nijhuis was acting aggressively.
Verbeek's rejection means that the disciplinary board of the KNVB must now look at the case.
