A point would be enough for PSV to secure their 21st Dutch title, but they failed to clinch the crown last week after they were held to a 1-1 draw by FC Twente at the Philips Stadion.

The title celebrations have been put on hold for this week, with PSV three points clear of closest challengers Ajax heading into the final round of matches.

PSV trained behind closed doors this week as they stepped up their preparations ahead of Sunday's clash at Vitesse. Ibrahim Afellay and Ismail Aissati have returned to full fitness and completed a full training session.

Tommie van der Leegte was absent from training after becoming a father for the second time.

"In the Vitesse game we can prove to the crowd that we can handle this pressure," said Vergoossen.

"We have a young team but there is a lot of consistency in it. We are starting with the intention to win. To play for a draw is too dangerous.

"We have everything in our own hands. If there is any pressure, then this is just what we need to get a good result."

Vitesse coach Aad de Mos has been keeping quiet ahead of his side's last game of the season.

De Mos pointed only towards an interview in De Telegraaf, in which he predicted that Vitesse will beat PSV, with Ajax - who host Heracles Almelo - becoming champions.

"Everything I want to say is in that interview," he said.
