A number of clubs in the VPL held a meeting last week regarding the direction of Football Federation Victoria.

The clubs have threatened to stop paying their fees to the Federation and stop playing football if the FFV does not meet certain conditions.

This would play havoc with the state based competition. The VPL is in its final round of matches this week before the showpiece finals kick off next week.

In particular, clubs are unhappy with certain constitutional reforms associated with the Crawford Report as well as the FFV's focus on the new Summer League - a zonal competition designed to run parallel to the winter VPL.

Another beef some clubs have is that they claim they were told six rounds into the VPL that four clubs will be relegated from the competition.

"The league's a rabble," one insider told au.fourfourtwo.com. "There's a lack of focus on the VPL and there's no interest in the summer league, but the federation is still focusing on it."
