HEIDELBERG United moved into a finals spot with a 1-0 win over Bentleigh Greens in a Victorian Premier League catch up weekend where South Melbourne also returned to the winner's list.
United is unbeaten since early May and moved into fifth courtesy of striker Saso Alexovski's free kick 14 minutes from time.
The Bergers failed to record a win until round eight, but have won five times since.
In a dour contest against the Greens, Alexovski struck a fine free kick to collect three points.
In the weekend's only other game, South Melbourne registered an important 3-1 win over the struggling Altona Magic.
Magic was on the board first on the half hour with Mathew Theodore's shot deflecting off a South defender to find the net.
But South central defender Steven O'Dor found the equalizer just before the break.
Soon after the break, O'Dor found himself scoring an unlikely brace with a glancing header putting his side ahead.
The win was secured on 83 minutes when a quick free kick from Joe Keenan found Kyle Joryeff to secure a much-needed victory for South Melbourne.
