RICHMOND moved into the Alanic Victorian Premier League Grand Final to face Green Gully after dispatching of Hume City at Knights Stadium.
Richmond 2 (Daniel Visevic 45', Jesse Krncevic 67')
Hume City 1 (Ross Thompson (pen) 83')
Richmond recorded the deserved 2-1 win over Hume City in trying conditions after the pitch felt the weight of a heavy downpour prior to kick off.
In an average first half, both teams failed to make decent inroads as they tried to acclimatise to the conditions.
But the Eagles got a big break in first half stoppage time.
Awarded a free kick 35 yards from goal, duo Michael Ferrante and Daniel Visevic stood over the ball.
The latter put in a quickly taken low in swinging cross that avoided everyone including Steven Topalovic and found the corner of the City net.
Richmond was well on its way to a berth in the decider when striker Jesse Krncevic found the net midway through the second half.
Tensions boiled over soon after, with City's Philip Riccobene and Richmond's Antun Kovacic both given their marching orders following a scuffle.
Hume pushed for a late comeback and pulled one back via Ross Thompson from the penalty spot.
But it wasn't enough as minor premier Richmond won its way through to a clash with Green Gully at AAMI Park on Saturday night.
