The Bergers fell behind when new Georgies recruit Taxiarhis Apostolikas headed home the opener after a cross from Fidell Richards on 12 minutes.

But Heidelberg's own recruit George Slefendorfas equalized on the half hour.

A cross from Saso Alexovski found the new United man, who volleyed home the equalizer.

Just before the break, United found what would be the winner.

Striker Alexovski had a simple finish after Slefendorfas returned the earlier favour with a whipping cross as the Bergers made it two from two.

GREEN Gully was forced to go home with a point after failing to capitalize on a number of late opportunities in a 1-1 draw at Hume City.

Despite a scrappy first half, Gully defender Daniel Jones was able to head home the opener after 50 minutes after a scramble in the City penalty area.

But five minutes later, City forward Richard Cardozo put in a lovely pass for Zoran Petrevski to skip past Gully keeper Nikola Roganovic and apply a simple finish.

The Cavaliers had a number of chances in the final 15 minutes but failed to find a winner.

OAKLEIGH was forced into a come from behind to salvage a 2-2 draw at Bentleigh on Friday night.

The Greens looked as though they were on track for a shock win when Dean Piemonte and Alex Rojas gave the home side a two-goal lead at the break.

Piemonte found space to place a fine shot past Griffin McMaster in the Cannons goal.

Rojas made it two when his whipping corner found the net.

But as the Cannons do, two quick strikes midway through the second period secured a point.

First John Fitzgerald scored a header from a goalmouth scramble and Michael Curcija scored a volley minutes later to ensure the two teams went drew for the second time this season.

MELBOURNE Knights scored a late equaliser to clinch a point in a 1-1 draw with Dandenong Thunder

In an entertaining game, the Thunder took the lead after a quarter of an hour courtesy of Veton Korcarevski.

New Knights keeper Sebastian Mattei parried a long shot from Scott Bulloch, before Korcarevski slotted home the rebound.

It looked as though Dandenong would regain the three points it forfeited during the week until the returning Jean-Charles Dubois scored a fantastic equalizer in stoppage time.

A cross from Kevin Townson fell for Dubois to score an overhead kick from inside the area.
