A HUGE Friday night will be of tremendous importance for six teams in the sixth round of the Victorian Premier League.
It shapes as a blockbuster night with three important games scheduled to go ahead after the Easter break.
The top of the table Hume City will travel to a Richmond side coming off a surprise loss at the Melbourne Knights last round.
Hume has been unstoppable so far this season and is sharing the workload with Richard Cardozo and Zoran Petrevski both scoring three goals.
Richmond will need to contain Hume in the second half with 10 of its 13 goals coming in the second period this season.
For the home side, striker Daniel Visevic has been in amazing form with a goal in every game, but he comes up against the competition's equal strongest defence.
Meanwhile, the struggling Green Gully will be travelling to the Bentleigh Greens.
Gully has lost four of the opening five and has struggled in the attacking third so far this season.
The Greens have been a surprise packet after being promoted from State League One and currently sit in fifth position.
These two teams will need to make the most of their opportunities in front of goal in a crucial game.
At Jack Edwards Reserve, the second-placed Oakleigh Cannons will host the Melbourne Knights.
The Cannons could only take away a point from Heidelberg last time out but a home win may mean they entrench themselves in the top five.
Veteran striker Michael Curcija has been in goal scoring form in recent weeks, with a goal in each of the last three games.
The Knights are coming off their first win of the season but remain in the relegation zone.
Jean Dubois and Kevin Townson have both scored three times this season.
On Saturday night, champion Altona Magic will be looking for its second win against the Dandenong Thunder.
Magic are on a high after a 3-1 win at Green Gully last time out while the Thunder have lost four on the trot after an opening round win.
The round will wrap-up on Sunday with South Melbourne hosting cellar dweller Heidelberg United.
South has jumped to third on the ladder and is undefeated with Fernando De Moraes playing superbly with five goals to start the season.
Heidelberg has only benefited from Osagie Ederaro but desperately need a win to get out of the negative points.
Sunshine George Cross will host Northcote in the final game of the round.
The Georgies have slipped to eighth after consecutive defeats while Northcote is one point outside of the top five after two-straight wins.
