Melbourne Victory have made a formal approach to Brisbane's reigning Player of the Year, which could serve a huge blow to John Aloisi's side.
Brisbane fullback Corey Brown has missed the last two matches for Aloisi's side, with Connor O'Toole taking his place as speculation over his future grows.
The defender is off-contract at the end of the season and Aloisi has confirmed Victory are already in the hunt for the 24-year-old.
"(Victory) sent a letter to our club saying they want to speak to him for next season," Aloisi said.
"But at the moment, no one else will be leaving our football club this season, because we need everyone."
Brisbane remain ninth on the ladder after a 3-2 win over fellow-battlers Perth Glory, but with the recent departure of Petros Skapetis scuppering their forward momentum, another key player-loss would be inconceivable.
"Corey will play the next few games," Aloisi said.
"We've got ACL qualifiers, we've still got a trip to Central Coast that's an important one and I have to put out, if I can, a strong enough team to win those games."
Brisbane play AFC Champions League qualifier, Flipino side Ceres-Nigros, next Tuesday.
