Melbourne Victory, Newcastle Jets and Adelaide United all secured big wins in pre-season friendly games overnight.
Victory met Bentleigh Greens at Kingston Heath as both sides continue preparations for their FFA Cup Round of 32 clashes next week against Brisbane Roar and Hume City respectively.
It was a relatively comfortable hit-out for Victory, however, sealing a 5-0 win against the Greens.
Besart Berisha opened the scoring after just seven minutes, before Mitch Austin doubled the lead on 33 minutes.
Kosta Barbarouses was on fire in the second half, scoring a hat-trick to round out the win for Victory, who also gave valuable game time to new signing Mark Milligan and James Troisi.
Newcastle Jets and Adelaide United also prepared for their FFA Cup tie against each other with friendly wins last night.
The Jets secured a 4-0 win over Maitland FC, while United won by the same scoreline against the Adelaide Comets.
Dimi Petratos opened the scoring for Newcastle, before his brother Kosta made it 2-0 from the penalty spot early in the second half.
Devante Clut made it 3-0 in the 77th minute, with Chinese trialist Zhengyu Zhu wrapping up the scoring a few minutes later.
In Adelaide it was new Danish winger Johan Absalonsen who made it 1-0 in the first half, before Taylor Regan doubled their advantage just after the hour mark.
Mark Ochieng made it 3-0 in the 68th minute, and a Lachlan Brook stunner rounded out the four-goal win.
The FFA Cup Round of 32 concludes next Wednesday, with Victory taking on Brisbane at Perry Park, Adelaide and Newcastle meeting at Marden Sports Complex, Hume tackling Bentleigh at ABD Stadium, and Sydney United 58 hosting FNQ Heat at the Sydney United Sports Centre.
