Melbourne Victory has signed former Germany youth international Maximilian Beister until the end of the current A-League season.
Beister joins Victory from Bundesliga outfit FSV Mainz, who confirmed the switch on the club's website, where he made one appearance.
The 26-year-old forward came through the Hamburg SV youth system and has also had loan spells at Fortuna Dusseldorf and 1860 Munich.
“We have worked hard in the last few weeks to find a solution and have now found one, which will benefit all involved,” Mainz sporting director Rouven Schröder said.
“Maximilian Beister now has his future in his own hands.”
Beister completes Victory's quota of five visa players, alongside Alan Baro, Fahid Ben Khalfallah, Marco Rojas and Besart Berisha.
