The Surinamese-born attacker first played with Dutch Eredivisie side FC Utrecht racking up 73 games and eight goals before joining rival N.E.C. where he played 81 games and netted 11 goals. Before joining Victory, George had been playing in Azerbaijan and Turkey.

George said the opportunity came when Victory was looking for a winger after losing Fahid Ben Khalfallah and star All White Marco Rojas.

But George says he doesn't care where Muscat plays him.

“If he wants to put me as goalkeeper, I will stay in the goal,” George joked.

“I like to go in attack, left right, in the middle, striker, it doesn't matter.

“For me, it's very easy. Football, it's the same thing. You play with one ball and you need to enjoy it.”

George will wear No.41 jersey and explained it had sentimental value after wearing that number when he first turned professional.

Having only arrived a few weeks ago and still learning the language, George said he had a light-hearted view on the inconsistent weather which changed a little too often.

The 30-year-old had not set foot in Australia prior to his signing but said he had a lot of experience playing against the likes of Roly Bonevacia, Romeo Castelen and Tommy Oar.

Victory kick off their season against traditional rivals Sydney FC in a grand final re-match on Saturday when George could see familiar faces Luke Wilkshire and Michael Zullo.

“I’ve played a lot of games in full stadiums, I’ve played Europa League,” he said.

“I heard a lot of things about the A-League, they told me a lot of good stories about it.

“That's why I came here, to see it myself.

“The language is English, it’s difficult sometimes because they speak so fast. Sometimes I don’t understand, but the guys are great. They help me a lot, like family.”
