AURELIO Vidmar is poised to quit Adelaide United today and join the Socceroos set up as the new Olyroos coach according to reports.
The Reds have called an 11.30am press conference with the Adelaide Advertiser reporting that Vidmar will leave Hindmarsh to link up with the Socceroos in South Africa.
He will become an assistant coach in the new set up and be the man in charge of trying to ensure qualification for the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
His contract will see him through to the end of the 2014 World Cup, the report claims.
The Advertiser claims that Perth Glory coach Dave Mitchell could be the man to replace Vidmar at Hindmarsh.
