ADELAIDE coach Aurelio Vidmar has spoken on his pride at the Reds making it into the semi finals of the Asian Champions League.
The 1-0 win at Hindmarsh Stadium last night was enough for a 2-1 aggregate triumph over reigning Japanese J-League champions Kashima Antlers, and book their place in the semis.
Vidar said it was a phenomenal effort by his squad and the club to get this far.
“For a club team in this competition to get to the semi final stage is an incredible achievement,” Vidmar said.
“The way we went about it was really pleasing. We probably could have had a couple of goals in the first half and they created some chances as well so I thought it was a really high quality, entertaining game.
“There was a bit of a catch cry at the beginning of the game that I put on the board about lets shock Asia and I think certainly tonight we’ve done that.”
