The 30-year-old arrives at City after making 87 appearances in the A-League representing Brisbane Roar, Adelaide United, Western Sydney Wanderers and most recently, Wellington Phoenix, scoring 21 times.

The forward will be eligible to play his first match for the club during the January 6 fixture against his former club at AAMI Park.

Vidosic is Melbourne City FC’s second signing during the January transfer period, joining defender Harrison Delbridge on the roster.

“Dario is a player who will bring a wealth of experience at this level to our front third,” Melbourne City head coach Warren Joyce said.

“He has represented the Socceroos over 20 times and played at a high level overseas and we are excited to have him join our squad here in Melbourne.”

The forward began his professional career in 2006 with Brisbane Roar before heading to Germany with then Bundesliga side 1. FC Nurnberg, returning to Australia in 2011.

A two-year stint in the Swiss Super League with FC Sion and a brief period at Western Sydney ensued before a shift to Asia with Chinese outfit Liaoning Whowin and K-League side Seongnam FC.

“Melbourne City’s professional environment and the quality of the playing and coaching groups made this an easy decision for me,” Vidosic said.

“I am looking forward to contributing to the club both on and off the field and to showing the City fans what I am capable of.”
