The champions were ripped apart in the second half of Friday's clash at AAMI Park, with Richard Garcia, Josip Tadic and David Williams adding to Patrick Gerhardt's first half strike.

"There was no heart in our play," Vidosic told reporters.

"It was just the game that individuals didn't want to play in, didn't want to perform. It was probably the worst performance we've seen from this lot in two-and-a-half years."

The result, Roar's third loss in a row, leaves them bottom of the table and piles the pressure on Vidosic, who took over from Ange Postecoglou in the off-season.

"I'm not questioning my ability because I've been at the club for seven years and I've been part of the last few years of our success, the same as the players," Vidosic said.

"I'm hungry, I want to achieve even more. Can they match my hunger?"

Roar skipper Matt Smith apologised for the performance and called it the lowest point of his career at the club.

"We need to apologise A, to our coach, B, to our club, C, to our fans," he said.

"Tonight was to me probably the lowest point I've had at the club."

Meanwhile, victorious Heart coach John Aloisi was delighted to end his club's own three-game losing run and insisted Roar remain a top side.

"They're a top side and I still believe they'll be up there. They're still the benchmark with the way they play and move the ball around,'' Aloisi said.

"They're going through a bad period at the moment but don't worry they'll be up there.

"I still don't know how Adelaide won last week and tonight there were periods we struggled to get the ball off them.

"It was important for us to get back to winning ways and we haven't been taking our chances but tonight we did.''
