Socceroos coach Graham Arnold has talked Mark Viduka out of announcing his international retirement.
Enigmatic Viduka was set to announce his international retirement early this morning. The FFA issued a conference, only to cancel it less than three hours later.
When the Socceroos squad was announced on June 8, Arnold told au.fourfourtwo.com that Viduka was never a chance of missing the tournament saying, "No, never. Mark left China with a massive smile on his face, because he loved it. He loved the respect and the adulation that he got in China. Last time I spoke to him, he was looking forward to the tournament. As Mark says, he wants to go out and win something for the Socceroos. He wants to win something in a prestigious tournament.”
Viduka is known to love playing for Australia, but is still struggling with his heavy playing commitments between international and English Premier League matches.
