ASTON Villa's Aussie youngster Chris Herd is being tipped for a second loan stint at League Two side Port Vale.
The 19-year-old Perth-born midfielder scored twice in 11 games during a two-month loan spell at the relegated side last season and manager Lee Sinnot (pictured) and his staff are keen to bring him back.
Vale scout Steve Joesbury told thisisthesentinel.co.uk: "I know Chris very well and he's one of a number of lads we're looking at.
"At this stage, it's about looking at players who may be looking to go out on loan and it's important to register your interest early.
"Villa may want him to step it up a little, and I know a Championship side is interested in him.
"But Chris enjoyed his time here and if we had the option to take him, we would be silly not to be interested."
Herd, who can play in a number of positions, including right-back, right-wing and central midfield, also had a loan spell with League Two club Wycombe Wanderers last season.
