Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas claims that Emmanuel Adebayor is one of the best strikers in world football and that he is not for sale.
Adebayor's season has been disrupted by injury and lack of form, with Villas-Boas often opting to start Jermain Defoe in a lone striker's role.
However, Villas-Boas says that the 28-year-old still has a role to play at the club, and that he rates the forward very highly.
"Certainly there is no interest in selling or loaning Adebayor," Villas-Boas told reporters.
"We brought him in this season, unfortunately for him it hasn't been working out in terms of injuries.
"We have full belief in Adebayor, he is one of the greatest strikers in the world. Sooner or later he is going to be back in the squad."
Spurs face Maribor in the Europa League on Thursday and Villas-Boas is eager to capture the three points and move closer to the next round of the competition.
"Even though a defeat against Maribor doesn't mathematically disqualify us, it is a game we have to win," the Portuguese said.
"We are in this competition to win it."
