Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas is confident Gareth Bale will remain at the club next season.
Bale, who has scored 20 goals in the Premier League this season, has been linked with a number of clubs but Villas-Boas believes he will retain the Welshman's services.
"I'm not sure, our interest is for the player (Gareth Bale) to continue here," the Portuguese said.
"We've made that very very clear. Whatever is happening the idea is for the player to be with us for the next season."
If Bale stays at White Hart Lane, he could be joined by Spanish striker David Villa, with the Barcelona man reportedly set for a switch at the end of the season.
Villas-Boas remained tight-lipped over the speculation, however, instead saying his side are simply focussed on grabbing the last UEFA Champions League spot on Sunday against Sunderland.
"He (David Villa) is one of the world's best strikers," he said.
"What comes out of speculation at this time at Tottenham is very surreal because we know that this club is very active in the last weeks of the transfer window. So you can see that speculation is growing here and there but at the moment we are focused on trying to get that fourth spot."
