Frank Lampard, Jose Bosingwa, Branislav Ivanovic and Florent Malouda got on the scoresheet for the Blues while John Obi Mikel and Josh McEachran turned in impressive displays in midfield.

Chelsea came in for criticism after only managing to beat a Malaysian XI 1-0 in the previous game on their tour of Asia, Villas-Boas defended that performance but also warned that there was still plenty to work on despite the convincing scoreline in today's win.

He told the club website: "I said in Malaysia we had a lot of chances, and a lot of goals we did not score and it changes your perspective on how you look at the game.

"Today you score more goals and everything looks more positive.

"I will keep the same opinion, we had the same behaviours and the same pattern of what we are trying to achieve.

"It is not that this performance was great compared to the other one, it is just that we scored more goals and it seems that everything is positive."

It would also appear that Villas-Boas will soon be able to add more new faces to his squad.

The Blues confirmed on Saturday that they have reached an agreement with Barcelona over the signing of Oriol Romeu, while Palermo vice-president Guglielmo Micciche says Javier Pastore is "very likely" to move to Stamford Bridge.

Manchester City and Juventus were also thought to be interested in the 22-year-old Argentinian striker.

But Micciche told Radio Sportiva: "We are talking about a great player who, in my opinion, is extraordinary.

"There is no doubt that he should be sold for several reasons. He wants a big club and negotiations are well advanced with a very important team.

"His agent is working well and if someone pays the right amount we are happy to let him go.

"Very likely he will go to Chelsea but I think there are many other clubs of that level looking at the boy."
