Fiorentina are negotiating with West Ham and could be set for a swap deal that would see Portuguese defender Manuel Da Costa move to the Premier League in exchange for striker Savio.
Da Costa is thought to be a target of the London outfit and the Viola are prepared to let him go in exchange for Savio, who has struggled to make an impact in England since joining West Ham from Brescia in January.
Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino confirmed the talks but said the deal has yet to be completed.
He said: "Da Costa is not yet of West Ham.
"They asked for him and we have considered adding Savio in the negotiations, which could be seen as an investment for Fiorentina."
Earlier today, the Florence-based outfit confirmed the transfer of midfielder Zdravko Kuzmanovic to Stuttgart on a permanent basis in a reported seven million euros (£6.15million) deal.
