Socceroos’ keeper Danny Vukovic and his club side Genk have reached the Belgian Cup final after defeating Kortrijk 1-0 at home.
The win meant Genk progressed 3-3 on aggregate due to the away goals rule. Vukovic drew praise for his performance keeping a clean sheet, although he was kept relatively protected by his defensive line.
Genk will now face one of Belgian giants Club Brugge or Standard Leige in the final. Vukovic has had a strong campaign in his first season in the Belgian Pro League, currently sitting fifth in the clean sheet tally with 7 from 22 matches.
Genk currently sit sixth in the league.
What is it with Aussie goalkeepers? @vuka20 will play in Belgian Cup final and @MatyRyan doing so well in EPL. @Socceroos hardly ever had a problem in this position
