Theo Walcott has revealed he is excited to be given the opportunity to play up front for England against Brazil on Sunday.
The Arsenal forward is set to start as the main centre-forward for Roy Hodgson's side, with injuries to Daniel Sturridge, Jermain Defoe and Danny Welbeck leaving the former Southampton man with an opportunity he is keen to grasp.
Walcott has been in prolific form for Arsenal despite playing most of the season out wide, and the 24-year-old believes he will enjoy being deployed as the primary striker.
"It will be fantastic," Walcott said. "I said I wanted to play up front.
"People say I have played up front, but I have had limited opportunities this year I have played on the wing and got most of my goals from there.
"Playing for England in any position is a dream. The manager picks the team and whoever plays will go out and do a job and hope to win. I have had a go in training, so we will see.
"I think I am the top English scorer in the Premier League, my confidence is good and that was from playing on the wing. I will play anywhere for club and country and the goal-scoring side of things have got much better."
Walcott scored 21 goals in 43 appearances last season, but has not been a regular goalscorer for his country, netting just four times during his seven-year international career.
