Lee Wallace today completed a £1.5million move from Hearts to Rangers and admitted he jumped at the chance.
The Scottish champions had failed with previous bids for the left-back, but he has now signed a five-year contract.
Wallace said: "It's great to have a club of Rangers' stature interested in you and then when it comes to signing for the club it's even better.
"I'm ambitious. I will be 24 next week and I want to play at the highest level.
"If any youngster doesn't have that ambition, there must be something wrong with them.
"I've got these ambitions and I'm now here at a huge club."
Rangers succeeded at the third attempt with their move for Wallace, who said: "As a professional I just got on with everything.
"That's just me, I worked hard every day and kept going and let that side of things take care of itself.
"I hoped it would happen but I just kept focused while hoping that it would actually happen."
