“A lot of people have told me I’ve made the wrong decision not taking up offers in Sweden or Norway,” Walsh told au.fourfourtwo.com.

“There’s a lot of talk that the Swedish league is the strongest league in the world.

“But what I wanted this year was not to be overseas for too long as I’m still studying this year.

“I want to be in the WUSA [the professional US womens’ soccer league] next year so that’s when I’ll spend all my time overseas.”

Walsh has a scholarship at Macquarie University and will finish her studies this year.

Matilda World Cup stars Caitlin Munoz and Collette McCallum will hook up with their new teammates after the Australian national team play a two game tour of the US at the end of April.

“The Pali Blues are a pretty big club and they play some good football. And in Collette, they’ll have the best midfielder in the world,” added Walsh.

The two Aussie girls are set to make their debut on the road against the Ventura County Fusion on May 10. Walsh is due to make her Blues debut after the Asian Cup in late May early June.

Her commitment to the Blues means she will miss the Matildas' involvement in the financially lucrative Peace Cup in South Korea later that month.

Walsh is expected to be one of the stars of the new Women’s A-League, due to kick-off next spring here in Australia.
