Western Sydney Wanderers and Parramatta Eels fans have the chance to own a piece of history as the demolition process of Parramatta Stadium begins.
Fans can bid at next week’s auction for an array of items from the stadium including lockers, flag poles, seats and even the turf which will be ripped up and sold in individual pieces as the construction of a new 30,000 seat stadium commences.
Fans can register online for the turf which can be collected in December.
NSW Minister for Sport Stuart Ayres urged the Wanderers and Eels faithful to make the most of the opportunity to own a piece of their club’s history.
“Site preparations start now and you will see physical demolition early in the new year,” he told News Corp.
“A lot of the things in the stadium we want to reuse in other parts of the state.
“Parramatta Stadium has had a special place in Western Sydney’s history, and now Eels and Wanderers fans and major event lovers can take home their special piece of history.”
