A statement on Thursday said the game had been postponed after the Spotless Stadium pitch was deemed unsafe for players and match officials.

Head of the A-League, Greg O'Rourke, inspected the pitch himself after the stadium had switched their "winter grass" for "summer grass".

There was no suitable venue for the game to be relocated to, with the FFA electing to postpone the game to a later date to be confirmed.

However, Wanderers fans - after reacting furiously to the decision - found there may have been another reason the game was postponed.

Sensation Australia, a music festival with some of the biggest DJs in the world headlining it, is set to take place next weekend at Spotless Stadium.

But the event, set to be the "biggest outdoot festival in Australia's history", will take some time to prepare.

And in an article on the ticketbooth website, who sold tickets to the event, the Technical Producer for the festival revealed work is already set to begin to get it all ready.

“The setup will begin this Friday with over 100 crew,” the Technical Producer, Arian Yeganeh, said.

“It will take us one full week with perfect weather to build.”

If work is scheduled to begin today (Friday, 17 November), then that would have clashed with the Wanderers game that was set to kick-off at 5:35pm AEDT on Saturday, 18 November.

However, the Wanderers confirmed that the license period for organisers for the festical doesn't begin until Sunday, 19 November.

Despite all that, it is unclear what kind of damage this event will do to the Spotless Stadium pitch as it goes through it's seasonal change of grass.

The Wanderers next scheduled game at Spotless is on December 2, just one week after the conclusion of the event. They then back it up with another game at Spotless just a week later, raising fears of further postponements depending on the state of the venue after the festival.
