Western Sydney Wanderers have shut down the club's active support area, after Red and Black Bloc members lit flares at last week's Sydney Derby.
In a letter to the club's members, Wanderers CEO John Tsatsimas announced Western Sydney's active support area will be closed for their upcoming home match against Perth Glory.
The move pre-empted a show cause notice by Football Federation Australia which gave the club until 5pm Thursday to respond to the National Code of Conduct breach.
The club's statement said it "will not accept offensive behaviour" or the use of "incendiary devices".
In Western Sydney's 3-1 loss to Sydney FC, two flares were lit by Wanderers fans in the away support area at Allianz Stadium.
This action by the Wanderers is assumedly an attempt to avoid FFA punishments, which have previously included $50,000 fines or docked league points.
"Members who normally attend in the Active Area will be subject to alternative seating arrangements," the club's statement read.
"Unfortunately, a small group have made this action unavoidable."
The club plan to reopen the active support area for the following match against Wellington Phoenix, but have warned their fans that any further "breaches of the terms of admission" will result in the active support area being closed for an "indefinite period".

Hyundai A-League boss, Greg O’Rourke, said he was working closely with Wanderers following the incident.
“We will continue to work with all our clubs, venues, security and the police authorities to maintain a safe and secure environment for the vast majority of football fans who attend matches and support their team in a peaceful and good natured way week in and week out,” O'Rourke said.
