Griffiths has played his football in Asia of late. His last club – South China, was based in Hong Kong.

He was also previously was based in Malaysia for Sarawak.

Before jetting off to Malaysia and Hong Kong, he had a brief A-League stint with Adelaide United in 2014, playing four games and scoring one goal.

He spent two years with Newcastle Jets from 2011 – 2013.

Popovic said the club was talks with the 35-year-old as the Wanderers boss looks to boost his attacking force after the departure of Kerem Bulut.

The Wanderers boss said:

“We’ve had numerous discussions with players. Ryan is another one we’ve had discussions with and we’ll see in the next day or so if anything comes of it.”
