Around the World is a story of seven unique freestyle footballers from different cultures and backgrounds as they follow their dreams to become world champions.

The documentary follows the journey of professional freestylers from countries Norway, Poland, Kenya, USA, Japan, Chile and France.

It follows the athletes at close quarters getting an in-depth insight into the adversities and hardships of their daily lives, understanding what it takes to be a professional in the sport.

The film chronicles the beginning of the sport, looking at world-class training sessions and competitions all the way up to the World Championships.

The doubts and success of the freestylers paint a picture of what makes the freestyle football community tick, and what their ambitions are in the future.

Around the World is directed by French trio David Amouzegh, Tom Cheve and Clement Reubrecht.

A statement from the three said: “Since 2000, the Freestyle football community has evolved into an internationally recognised sport, and our plan is to be the first to document the success and evolution of this fast-growing spectacle.

“It will be a human documentary, with its themes based in dreams, motivation, inspiration and the overcoming of adversities.

“We have curated a diverse set of characters with unique backgrounds to show the world that a person’s circumstances do not define their path.

“It’s unbelievable to see how freestyle can change lives. It doesn’t matter where you’re from or how much money you’ve got, you can live with your passion, your ball and your community.”

The documentary is set to be released on 26 February 2019.
