So close, yet so far. The heroic FFA Cup Final pitch invader who failed miserably gave Adelaide fans more reason to smile.
Tuesday night's FFA Cup Final became even more entertaining when the Coopers Stadium pitch invader attempts to evade security failed.
After clearing the fence with ease and making it free for the first 40 metres, it was full speed ahead for the pasty semi-clad invader as he headed down the home stretch towards the safety of the Red Army.

The road was clear, the crowd was roaring – all he needed to do was make it over the next hurdle, literally.
As he revved up the crowd, a slick pitch and poor shoe grip let him down...and instead of a graceful leap into the home end, he slammed into the LED screens that line the pitch.
His dreams of making FFA Cup Hall of Fame status (for the fans, at least...) were shattered when stadium security staff looked their chance to pounce and hauled him away.
