The Indian side will take on Iraqi outfit Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya in the final on November 5 in Qatar after they defeated Malaysia's Johor Darul Ta'Zim 3-1 in the second leg.

The first leg between Bengaluru FC and JDT ended in a 1-1 draw. Watson, who joined the Indian club from the Newcastle Jets, could become the first Aussie to win the AFC Cup.

It is believed no other Australian has won the trophy in its 12-year history.

"I'm buzzing for the final," he told FourFourTwo.

"I guess no one expected us to get there so it's even better. The whole team played very good in the second leg and for most periods I think we controlled the game even though they scored first.

"They are a very good team but we were at home and our fans were amazing, which I think made a difference. Everyone for the game was focused and knew what was at stake. For the local boys especially as they had all the families and friends watching."

Watson admits he knows little about their final opponents Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya.

"I don't know much at all about the other team but I'm sure we will be watching their last couple of games," he said.

"They are in the final against us so that says enough about their quality."

The former Adelaide United man said it would be nice to be the first Aussie to claim the AFC Cup.

"It would be nice if it's the case and especially if we can lift the trophy," he said.

"Either way, being in the final is a special occasion. To win the AFC cup, we would be making history. An unbelievable achievement for club and the country as a whole. The football here is growing and the talent is endless."

Watson, who has played for Australia at both Under-17 and Under-20 levels, joined Bengaluru FC in August. The midfielder said he has loved his first two months at the club.

"The club has been unbelievable since day one," he said.

"My new teammates, I can't say enough about them. On and off the field they have made my transition super easy. Sunil Chettri our captain, and John Johnson my housemate, have sorted out anything I have needed."
