Former Newcastle Jets man Cameron Watson played his part as FC Bengaluru qualified for the Inter-zone play-off semi-finals of the AFC Cup.
Watson’s Bengaluru defeated Maldives outfit Maziya 1-0 to secure top spot in Group E and a spot in the final stages of the competition.
The 30-year-old Australian defensive midfielder played the full 90 minutes in the win.
Bengaluru could play ex-Adelaide United winger Iain Ramsay’s Filipino club Ceres-Negros in the next stage.
Ramsay put in a full shift as Ceres knocked off Malaysian outfit Johor 2-1 on Wednesday in their zonal semi-final.
