The Koreans need to triumph and hope Saudi Arabia beat Bahrain in the day's other Group D match to have any hope of qualifying for the knockout phase of the competition.

And with the prospect of another sell-out crowd at the famous Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, the Dutchman is looking forward to Wednesday's clash.

"I think it will be a great game," he said. "Every coach, every player is looking for a challenge and tomorrow will be a big challenge, first of all because we are playing the home team and you play against 90,000 fans in the stadium and we have to win the game by a minimum of two goals.

"If that's not a challenge then there are no challenges left in football any more."

The Koreans have disappointed so far in Indonesia, drawing their opening game against Saudi Arabia before allowing Bahrain to come from behind to win 2-1 on Sunday, with those results leaving Verbeek's team on the brink of elimination.

"I think Indonesia is very well prepared for this game," he said of Wednesday's opponents. "Defensively they are very well organised and in attack they have good balance and players with special qualities.

"So far they have done very well and they were very unlucky that they lost against Saudi in the last match.

"I think so far we have also played well but we only have one point. In a tournament it's not about playing good football, it's about results.

"We have one point but we are still in the race and that make it very attractive. Our team is ready, all the players are fit although they have maybe not completely recovered from the game because of the climate and the field is very heavy.

"But we are ready to go for the battle tomorrow. It will not only be decided by quality and football skills but also by the right mentality."

Indonesia go into the game on the back of a heart-breaking injury-time defeat against Saudi Arabia, but coach Ivan Kolev knows that a win against the perennial World Cup qualifiers will take his team into the knockout phase for the first time ever.

"It's difficult to forget the loss against Saudi but my players are professional and I think the players will come to the field with the final objective of qualifying in their mind," he said.

"The most important game for us is the next game against Korea. We know so many good things about Korea and we have to attack. We have to find a way to score a goal and we will see the results when the game is finished."
