JOHN Kosmina got down to business with his new squad at Sydney – and vowed to turn them into winners.
To see Kosmina's first training session in charge...

He took his first training session at Macquarie University in North Ryde as he met the players for the first time since taking over from Branko Culina.
And he said he didn’t see any reason to make sweeping changes to the side but was focused on making the team believe in itself once more.
“We have to get their heads right,” he said. “We need to turn them into winners again. Winning is a state of mind – football’s all about what’s in your head, it’s not about your feet.
“If your head’s not right, your feet aren’t going to work properly and your body won’t work properly. If you’ve got the right attitude, it goes a long way.”
He added: “Sometimes when things aren’t going right then you have to fight your way out of that corner.
“We’re almost in that situation now.”
The training session was notable for the relaxed start as players laughed and joked among themselves before they started a highly competitive workout as they tried to catch Kosmina’s eye.
At one stage, Juninho had to step in and ask Brendan Santalab to ease up on his tackles on Patrick after two crunching lunges saw Patrick react angrily.
“It’s like an interview,” one player admittedly privately after the session. “Everyone is out to impress the new coach. No-one’s place in the team is safe and we’re all back to scratch again.
“It’s good for the team but it’s quite a bit of pressure.”
Kosmina added: “I thought the session was great. They were even starting to get stuck into each other towards the end there which was good to watch. Nothing wrong with a bit of stick every now and then.
“I was really impressed. I’ve admired players like Stevie Corica and Ufuk Talay for their touch. To actually be back on the park with players with their quality is excellent.”
Kossie admitted he hadn’t spent much time with the team before taking them into the training session.
“I’m not a big talker,” he insisted. “You can waste time talking. We’ll talk a bit as time goes on – I’m more concerned about the game on Sunday.
“They’ve had their ups and downs with injuries and suspensions, but I said to the blokes what happened last week has nothing to do with me, it’s got more to do with them.
“They need to take some responsibility for where they are at the moment as well. There’s no point in blaming other people.
“Their destiny is in their own hands from hereon in.”
