Albion currently lie 13th in the table with 10 points from nine games and face Newcastle tomorrow on the back of a 4-0 defeat at Manchester United and 3-0 home loss to Hull.

Albion missed several chances to score before Hull broke the deadlock and were then guilty of poor defending, and Mowbray feels his side must be more clinical.

"No one enjoys losing," he said. "It is about how you get ready for the next match and where your motivation is to put it right.

"Once we get the critical parts of our game in the boxes right we should improve.

"We need to take more chances that come along and have a more positive 'They shall not pass' attitude in the other box.

"I think we are a good football team which plays a game which is suitable to the Premier League.

"We are not out of our depth. We can cope with the division but we have to create chances and score goals. Ultimately you struggle if you do not take your chances.

"Generally, 75% of what we are doing is very good. We just have to tidy up our game and be more clinical in both boxes.

"Defending this season has generally been good. Individuals have a good concentration level and I haven't felt vulnerable defensively, yet seven goals in two games doesn't suggest that is the case.

"I am sure that we will get back on track very quickly. At the other end of the pitch is the area that is something I know the strikers are desperate to put right.

"Sometimes you have to look past the result and look at the performance and see the qualities this team has got and keep believing in them and keep going.

"When chances turn into goals we will be a pretty decent side in this division.

"If these kind of results do continue over any length of time something would have to be addressed but I am not jumping to making any conclusions after two or three weeks."

Newcastle are just one point above bottom side Tottenham after losing 2-1 at Sunderland on Saturday while Spurs claimed their first win of the season against Bolton on Sunday.

And Mowbray is hoping to exploit the pressure on the Magpies to get a good result tomorrow.

He added: "There is a great atmosphere created at St James' Park. The supporters cheer every time their team gets across the half way line.

"They are really behind their team and you have to withstand that storm. We will be facing a pretty determined Newcastle side, I am sure of that.

"They will look at the match as the one where they will think fortunes must turn in their favour.

"But that can create pressure on them and become a nightmare scenario for them."
