Augsburg coach Markus Weinzierl is confident the club can continue to improve after he signed a contract extension.
Weinzierl has committed his future to the Bundesliga side until June 2017, with Augsburg president Walther Seinsch having labelled 2013 as "the most successful year in the club's history".
After narrowly avoiding relegation when finishing 15th last season, Augsburg currently sit eighth in the German top flight, having gone five games unbeaten prior to the winter break.
"Our team has been sporting a great development," said Weinzierl, who took charge in 2012.
"We want to make FCA (Augsburg) a stable first-division club, are on the right track, but nowhere near the goal.
"Therefore, I am pleased with the confidence of managers, (which means we can continue) to pursue this goal together in the coming years."
