Celtic defender Steven Pressley has warned that Motherwell could be more dangerous without his future Aussie team-mate Scott McDonald.
Motherwell boss Maurice Malpas will leave the Socceroo out against the Bank of Scotland Premier League leaders at Parkhead tomorrow after he agreed to join the Hoops in the summer.
But Pressley feels Celtic should be wary of a Motherwell side eager to prove they can play without the $1.8 million hitman.
Pressley said of McDonald: "He has had another terrific season and he is a smashing player.
"But I'm a believer that one player certainly doesn't make a team and sometimes when the so-called key players miss games for a side it brings a togetherness within the remainder of the team.
"They want to prove that it is certainly isn't a one-man show. I think you will see a very spirited Motherwell team tomorrow."
The Hoops could be celebrating the SPL title if they overcome the Lanarkshire side and St Mirren beat Rangers on Sunday.
And Pressley, who joined from Hearts in January, feels there is no need to panic despite picking up just one point, and scoring one goal, in three games.
"I said at the start of the season I wanted to have the experience of winning the SPL, I didn't realise it was going to possibly be in Celtic colours," said the Scotland defender.
"We desperately want to get over the final hurdle.
"I think you have to look at the season as a whole and not just isolated periods.
"If you look at the team over the last 33 games, the consistency has been absolutely tremendous.
"We are very positive, we believe we are still playing well, doing the correct things and hopefully we will get the result tomorrow.
"In football you go through periods where you score plenty of goals and you go through droughts.
"The strikers are playing extremely well for the team. It's not just about strikers scoring goals, we all have to contribute.
"I have only contributed once since coming to the club in 12 or 13 games and I feel I need to make a bigger contribution in goals."
The 33-year-old insists there is no danger of the players slacking off, subconsciously or not, because the destination of the title looks assured.
"At this club you can't do that, there is constant pressure to get results," said Pressley.
"Within our dressing room we have got a number of players who have experienced this before and they have continuously reminded us of the importance of getting there."
