Arsene Wenger maintains now is not the time to be talking about a new contract with Arsenal.
The Frenchman's future at the Emirates Stadium has been the subject of speculation this summer, amid suggestions he might choose not to extend his current contract which expires at the end of the forthcoming campaign.
The board are keen to tie up their manager - who has revolutionised the club since arriving in September 1996 - on a new deal as soon as possible.
However, Wenger, 57, maintains all his focus is currently on team affairs as Arsenal step up pre-season preparations with the Emirates Cup this weekend, and he had "no news" over his own future.
"I have shown since I've arrived here that I'm very faithful to the club," the Frenchman said.
"I think I've always shown my commitment for the club and I'll come out at the right moment to speak about the future, especially about my future.
"I cannot announce things when they are not signed, not done, not discussed.
"If I had signed for one year when I arrived, everyone would have thought that was a long time. There's still one year to go."
Wenger maintained: "What I want first is our immediate future to be bright.
"We want to start well, we are all committed."
Wenger is, meanwhile, no closer to deciding on the appointment of a director of football at the Emirates Stadium.
Following the controversial departure of vice-chairman David Dein in April, the Arsenal boss has been dealing with transfers himself, aided by director Ken Friar.
Club scout Gilles Grimandi is considered the front-runner for the new post, with Reading's Nicky Hammond also suggested as a suitable candidate.
However, the Gunners boss revealed nothing imminent was in the pipeline.
"I was busy during the summer because we've signed some young players, but I've been busy every summer," said Wenger.
"What I hate more than anything else is the paperwork. The rest is time consuming.
"I've not found anybody and, at the moment, I'm not on the verge of signing anybody as director of football."
The Arsenal boss also maintained nothing had yet been decided with regards to winger Jose Antonio Reyes, who spent last season on loan with Real Madrid.
Wenger said: "We are talking to several clubs at the moment regarding Reyes, but nothing has come of it as yet."
