Arsenal have been linked with Luis Suarez, Bernard, Julio Cesar and Marouane Fellaini during the close-season, however there have yet to be any big-name arrivals.

With just over two weeks until the start of the new campaign Wenger has reassured fans that he will continue to work on bringing players in, but insisted the current squad is capable of improving on last season's fourth-placed finish.

"We are still working on improving our squad," he told an Emirates Google+ Hangout.

"But we have a base of young players who get a chance here, who started in the Premier League, like (Wojciech) Szczesny, (Carl) Jenkinson, (Alex Oxlade) Chamberlain, (Jack) Wilshere, (Aaron) Ramsey, (and Theo) Walcott - that is unique, nobody else has done that.

"These players can have a special bond and they are on the way upwards, they are not over the hill.

"They will be better next year and that is why I am confident we will be stronger next season.

"We have had a good pre-season and for the first time in recent seasons we have not lost (sold) any player."

Arsenal's pursuit of Suarez has stalled since their latest offer, with Liverpool adamant the Uruguayan is not for sale.
