Posh now progress to the decider against Huddersfield Town to be played at Old Trafford on May 29.

Sydney-born 23-year-old Wesolowski, who was an unused sub in the 2-1 first leg defeat, was recalled to the starting line-up in midfield for Peterborough on Thursday.

Grant McCann put Posh ahead on 11 minutes, before a low drive narrowly evaded Craig Mackail-Smith and Wesolowski at the back post when they might have doubled their lead.

Mackail-Smith, though, put Peterborough ahead on aggregate on 54 minutes with a close-range finish after George Boyd's effort was saved.

MK Dons almost got level on aggregate in the tie when the unmarked Angelo Balanta was in on goal, but Wesolowski did superbly to deny him with a well-timed sliding challenge.

And Peterborough held on to claim the victory required to reach the play-offs final.

Elsewhere overnight, Socceroos goalkeeper Nathan Coe played a full game as struggling SonderjyskE claimed another important win, 2-1 over Esbjerg in Denmark's Superliga.

SonderjyskE are now four points clear of the drop zone with two games to play.

In India's I-League, Tolgay Ozbey scored again for East Bengal as they blew a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 to leaders Salgaocar.
