Kevin Phillips' 21st goal of the season helped West Brom claim a point in a 1-1 draw at Charlton which kept Albion in the hunt for automatic promotion from the Coca-Cola Championship.
Charlton had taken the lead in the 30th minute when Greg Halford scored his first goal for the club since he arrived on loan from Sunderland.
Darren Ambrose floated in a free-kick and Halford rose highest to guide his header past the despairing dive of former Addicks goalkeeper Dean Kiely and into the bottom corner.
