Kosmina's exit comes as new owners prepare to take control of the club and an eastern European influence could be the order of the day.

FourFourTwo columnist and Fox Sports commentator Simon Hill has suggested that former Zenit coach Vlastimil Petrzela is the likely new boy while former Sunderland manager Roy Keane is another name that has been thrown into the mix.

Petrzela worked with Zenit between 2003 to 2006, winning the silver medals of Russian Premier League in 2003 and reaching the quarterfinal of the UEFA Cup in 2006. Before Zenit he managed both Sparta Prague and Bohemians Prague.

An outside shot could be former skipper Tony Popovic who is now on the coaching staff at the club and well respected by the players.

The club will make an announcement in the coming days which would suggest that the process is well underway if not already wrapped up.

Terry Butcher fans should note he's just started a new job at Inverness in Scotland.......
