TIM Wiese has admitted his frustration at being Germany's second-choice goalkeeper for the World Cup finals.
Germany boss Joachim Low announced that Schalke's Manuel Neuer would be his preferred goalkeeper in South Africa at the weekend, leaving Wiese to content himself with a back-up role.
And while the 28-year-old Werder Bremen goalkeeper said he would accept the decision, he has been left feeling isolated after a strong season in the Bundesliga.
"I just do not have the support. I have given everything for Werder, but there are obviously concerns about me," said Wiese, who has won just two caps since making his Germany debut in November 2008.
"I'm obviously a loser. In the last two years it has for me been a case of setbacks in the national team.
"But I have to accept it. I'm still young. I will always be there for Germany and during the World Cup I will keep fit and give everything in training."
Mystery had surrounded who Low would opt for at the finals after first-choice Rene Adler was ruled out of the tournament due to a rib injury.
Neither Wiese or Neuer started a game in qualification, with the Schalke goalkeeper having won just three caps himself. Despite losing out to Neuer, Wiese said he would support his 24-year-old team-mate in South Africa.
"I will not get a chance in goal unless there is an injury to another, but despite this the relationship between me and Manuel is still good," Wiese added in an interview with the Munich newspaper tz.
Wiese's reaction to being overlooked was welcomed by Germany team manager Oliver Bierhoff, who said: "It is normal that a player who wanted to be number one is disappointed.
"But he has made it clear that the success of the team is important for him. He also shows in training. It is positive for the group."
Germany will leave it to the last minute to decide on their final 23-man squad, with an announcement set to be made tomorrow evening.
